As time goes on, many ambitious people want to run their businesses. Yes, it offers a host of advantages, and one should consider their wants and needs. Luckily, there is now more support than ever, and you can find this out for yourself if you need any help. In fact, with Small Business Week, it is now more than ever apparent that we have more help than in the past. With this in mind, here are a few things to know about this week.

National Small Business Week started on Monday, which is a time of the year to start as it’s not winter, and people are getting ready for summer. The week ends on Friday, May 8th. This is the 52nd year in a row that the United States president has declared this holiday-like event, which is dedicated to entrepreneurs and people who want to become ones in the future. Since there are no other major holidays or big events going on in the United States that week, Small Business Week is going to be a big hit as people from all walks of life will learn about it and participate.

One great thing about Small Business Week is that it will travel all over the United States with major events in Miami/Boca Raton, Los Angeles, New York, Washington D.C and San Antonio. At the regional events, you can sit down and hear interviews with people like Office Depot’s CEO Roland Smith, who will be present for the Boca Raton event.  Better yet, if you live in one of these cities, you can check out these events in person as you can find tickets with ease. If you want to join from afar, you can watch a live stream that will be available on as special Small Business Week section of the SBA website.

When thinking about Small Business Week, some people will want to know what they will gain from it. Luckily, if you are an entrepreneur or want to get started, you will have a lot of luck now this week gives people the tools they need to succeed. For example, during Small Business Week, one can learn how to best use social media to improve upon their marketing plans.  Other people can get  more basic help such as how to write a business plan. Simply put, if you are an entrepreneur and you want to get started or you want to build upon your plan, there are plenty of seminars all over the country where you can learn what you need to know to grow your business and watch it take off. Remember, whether you want to learn social media marketing, write a business plan or understand basic business finance, you should check out at least one of these events.

When looking at this weeklong event, it’s obvious that it’s a great event for every entrepreneur. When going to a Small Business Week event, one can learn a lot, all while doing it online or at a local event.
