Kids have been entering the business world at an early age for decades. Many come to realize that they have a unique skill or talent that evolves into a profitable success story. Meet some of the world’s talented youngsters who became entrepreneurs under 20.

10) Nick D’Aloisio,19

At the age of 12, Nick D’Aloisio was teaching himself code. By the age of 17, he tinkered around in his spare time and created a smartphone app called “Smackaroos. The young genius became an instant success story when Yahoo purchased the app for $30 million.

9) Maddie Bradshaw, 19

As one of the country’s entrepreneurs under 20, her business career began at the age of 15 when Maddie was making decorations for her school locker. Her ideas soon transformed into the company known as M3 Girl Designs. The company’s annual profits are recorded as being $1.6 million.

8) Sharavan and Sanjay Kumaran: 16, 14

Four years ago, the young brothers became CEOs when they registered their company, which made them two of the youngest entrepreneurs under 20. While still in grade school, the boys began learning Java code from their father. In their modest Chennai bedroom, the two became interested in developing apps for mobile devices. By 2012, four completed apps were downloaded in 20 different countries.

7) Asia Newson, 12

Little Miss Newson enjoys telling people that she is one of the youngest entrepreneurs under 20. From the tender age of 9, the young girl became CEO of the company “Super Business Girl.” With her father by her side as assistant, she voices ambitions of becoming the mayor of Detroit.

6) Jake Lunn, 14

At the age of 9, this young man was enthralled with sailing vessels and yachts. While on a family trip to Sweden, he developed the idea of featuring some of his favorite boats on linen napkins. Equipped with a second-hand printing press, he quickly learned to manufacture embossed creations that became the Nautical Napkins company.

5) Adora Svitak, 16

By the age of four, little Adora loved to write. Little did she and her parents know that her favorite pastime would gain the child recognition as one of the entrepreneurs under 20. By the age of six, she created hundreds of short stories on a laptop. By the age of seven, she was a published author. At 11, she published her second book with the help of her older sister.

4) Savannah Britt, 17

Britt is another child prodigy and joins the ranks of entrepreneurs under 20 as an author. She published her first poem at the age of eight. A year later, she gained her first paying job as a reviewer of children’s books for a New Jersey newspaper. Britt created her own magazine, which she entitled “Girlpez.”

3) Laurence Rook, 16

From the age of 13, the young student living in the UK grew concerned about the possibility of becoming the victim of a home invasion. As one of the budding entrepreneurs under 20, Rook developed the Smart Bell. The technology alerts the user’s mobile phone when someone rings the doorbell.

2) Leanna Archer, 19

A fondness for personal care products spun this young lady into the spotlight as one of the entrepreneurs under 20 when she developed and began packaging a hair product at the age of nine. Using a secret family recipe handed down from her great-grandmother,  Miss Archer began her company now known as Leanna’s Hair.

1) Robert Nay, 19

In 2010, the mobile app game known as “Bubble Ball” became available in the Apple app store. Within the first two weeks, the game was downloaded more than one million times. The game was developed in one month by then 14-year-old Robert Nay. Surprisingly, as one of the future entrepreneurs under 20, the teen taught himself code via the local library.
